Must See Landmarks in Budapest!

Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, is a picturesque and historic town, with plenty of beautiful landmarks all visitors must-see. Whether you're into history, photography, or architecture, ClikTok has culminated a list of places all travelers should add to their itineraries.


1. Buda Castle

Situated on Castle Hill on the Buda side of the city, Buda Castle won't fail to make you feel like royalty. With plenty to see on the exterior, add to your experience by participating in one (or many) of the tours offered. You'll have the chance to see inside of the Royal Palace, or even the Labyrinth underneath the castle.

2. Hungarian Parliament

If you've ever strolled around Budapest at night, or embarked on one of the Danube River evening sightseeing cruises, you've surely seen the beautiful, pillared building lit up at night. This building houses the Hungarian Parliament, one of the most iconic structures in the city. There's plenty of opportunity to delve deeper into Hungarian history by purchasing tickets for a guided tour of the building. 

3. Fisherman's Bastion

Fisherman's Bastion is a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sight. Situated in the Buda Castle District, you're in for a steep hike to get there, but it provides a panoramic view of Budapest, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and authentic chimney cakes! Here, you can also explore another one of Budapest's architectural marvels, the Matthias Church. It's unlikely you'll leave Fisherman's Bastion with amazing photographs. 

4. Heroes' Square 

Heroes' Square is home to the Millennium Memorial and the Museum of Fine Arts. The square is perfect to picnic in on sunny days and enjoy the sight of greenery and nature. 

5. Chain Bridge

On a temperate day, one of the greatest spots to stroll is the chain bridge connecting Buda and Pest. You can take amazing photographs and watch boats cruise the Danube River. If you're interested in architecture, or just enjoy pretty walks, the Chain Bridge is a must-see. 

6. Great Market Hall 

Great Market Hall, also known as the Central Market Hall, is a large, indoor market thats hosts a vast variety of stands and shops. Here, you can purchase iconic Hungarian meats, fish, spices, produce, and more. The upper floors also have restaurants where you can taste authentic local dishes. If it's your first time visiting Hungary, consider participating in a culinary tour of this market!

7. Budapest Eye

The Budapest Eye is the Ferris Wheel of Budapest. If you like thrill, adventure, and great views, this is for you! This is a great activity for families or individuals, and an opportunity to take stunning photos. From the wheel, you'll see the Buda castle district, many churches, the Danube River, and more.
